Blogger Q&A Tag: My Turn…

I have been tagged by Mandy Eve Barnett https://mandyevebarnett.com to play along with this Q&A, so here goes!
Rules: Thank the blogger who nominated you. Thanks Mandy 🙂 Answer the questions you were given by that blogger. Nominate 10 bloggers and give them 10 new questions and let them know they’ve been tagged.
The questions I received were:
Which do you prefer – tea or coffee or something else? Tea! Usually decaf Green Tea.
Vacation destination – Beach if possible 😀
As a writer do you plot your novels step by step or free flow allowing the idea freedom? I almost always free flow, then have to go back and do more editing than those who plot ^_^ but without the freedom to flow and not worry about plot structure my creativity can get stifled. So I edit and look at my structure later, then add in scenes or remove them, as long as the raw creativity made it through to the story.
Given the choice would you either write your memoir or the autobiography of someone else? I wouldn’t want to do either but if I had to then I’d do my own simply because I’m best at writing what I ‘know’. But I much prefer fiction. I’d probably write it as a fiction novel, my life story but with an actual structured plot and character goals, conflict, etc.
What inspires you to write? My own emotional pain and characters from movies or in real life that I feel a connection to and whose emotional pain is real. Other people’s emotions / lives / hopes / dreams / struggles as well as my own.
Do you prefer one genre or many to read? I like reading Young Adult. Sometimes that’s in the form of a romance, like Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen, or Dystopian like Matched by Ally Condie, or sci-fi fairy-tale like Cinder by Marissa Meyer. But almost always I enjoy Young Adult books over Adult books.
Which TV show from your childhood was your favourite? Jem
What is your preference for a pet? Dog or cat or something else? Growing up I would have said cat in a heartbeat. But now I’ve developed an allergy to them and also they’re nocturnal and I need my sleep. So I’d probably say a small dog that didn’t have an attitude, if there is such a thing.
List two items you would rescue in case of a house fire. My laptop with charger and my daughter’s art sketch books.
Which skill do you wish you had? I’ve always wanted to have time to study the violin. I took a few lessons and I know I could do it, along with the piano and guitar and flute which I do play, but time never allows. I feel that way about a lot of skills, that I could do it with time to learn. But one skill I wish I had that doesn’t seem to improve with time, is the skill of being assertive and not worrying so much about others reactions.
